Abortion: The New Nazis Sip Noble Cabernet

And we thought the new Nazis were mostly skin-heads with jackboots. While a few may be, the new Nazis are typically nice ladies with hair highlights and high-heals or clean-cut gentlemen with stethoscopes and iPads. Today’s Nazis masquerade as cultured and refined citizens who relax with a good glass of wine. These Nazis are nice people in powerful places, and they comprise the abortion establishment. But don't be fooled: they are murderous thugs.
Four weeks ago The Center for Medical Progress began releasing a series of videos exposing Planned Parenthood as a death factory that sells body parts. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States and probably the world. A baby is murdered every 96 seconds in an American Planned Parenthood facility, and in 2014 they received over $500 million from the US government to fund their operation.
The first video showed a Planned Parenthood executive enjoying salad and sipping wine while discussing the sale of body parts. In another video an executive jokes that she’d like a Lamborghini as she haggles over the sale of body parts, again over drinks. This shows an agent saying body parts are only line items in a budget. The Center for Medical Progress is heroic. They have changed the debate on abortion. William Wilberforce used carvings and paintings to depict the deplorable treatment of slaves as he pushed for abolition in the UK. US President Eisenhower ordered troops to photograph Nazi death camps to prove the evils of Hitler’s Germany. Martin Luther King Jr. used video cameras and news media to display police brutality towards peaceful Civil Rights marches in the southern United States. Historically, visual media have been effective tools to end injustice. Scripture commands us to expose the deeds of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). Today, the heroes at The Center for Medical Progress are using Youtube and social media to do just that. I pray this is the beginning of the end of legalized abortion in the United States.
From the USA, to our own nation - the true north strong and free. In 1988 the Supreme Court of Canada struck down Canada’s abortion law. Since then Canada has been one of the only countries in the world with an unregulated abortion industry. To be clear, our government regulates the use of incandescent light bulbs and the sale of cow milk, but not abortion. Abortion for any reason and at any stage of a pregnancy is unregulated in Canada. Rough estimates say there are 100,000 abortions per year in Canada – more than one abortion every 5 minutes. In 2012 Statistics Canada reported that 491 babies had been born alive and left to die after failed late-term abortion attempts. Last week Health Canada approved the abortion drug RU-486 for use. Meanwhile, those who protest outside abortion providers are regularly sent to jail, Justin Trudeau has bared pro-lifers from running as Liberal candidates, and medical associations in Ontario and Saskatchewan want to require all doctors to refer patients for abortions regardless of the doctors’ conscience.
Now from our nation to our church. Last night at our elders’ meeting we prayed that courageous advocates for the unborn would rise up within our congregation. Is there anyone who will offend the sensibilities of on-campus political correctness by stewarding their right to free speech and displaying photographs of aborted babies like these students did? Is there anyone who will do inside exposés of Canadian abortion providers like the American Lila Rose did as a student in 2006? Who will volunteer at and contribute to crisis pregnancy centers? Who will adopt the unwanted babies? Who will befriend and help the single mothers and fatherless children?
In 2013 Trinity Bible Chapel member, Christina Clark, testified to God’s grace in forgiving her for having an abortion. Since then her video has received over 1,000 views online. Who will proclaim the love of Christ to those entrapped by this sin? Who will stand up like Christina and call others into the light of His grace to be washed by the blood of Jesus?
Whether Planned Parenthood, Hitler’s Nazis, King Herod, or Pharaoh King of Egypt, murderers have been around since Cain killed Abel. Some societies, like our own, have chosen to legalize their crime as virtue. But the true King and Judge, Christ Himself, declares it a sin. For those who shed innocent blood, our Saviour shed His innocent blood on the cross at the hands of murderers dressed in religious garments, government uniforms, and everyday street clothes. For those murderers He prayed, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).
Who will pray for the end of abortion? Who will pray for the salvation of abortionists?
