King Alfred Academy
King Alfred Academy exists to glorify God by providing a Classical, Christ-centered education from elementary to high school (K-12). We equip students at every stage—from the foundations of grammar to the heights of rhetoric—for a life of learning, wisdom, and virtue, preparing them to stand for the truth and influence culture for Christ.
Christ-Centred
We believe that Christ is the centre and the starting point of all learning and wisdom. Through prayer and petition, students are taught to view all of life under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Classical
We follow a timeless and traditional classical model of education that moves students through the trivium – grammar, logic and rhetoric stages – matching student growth to specific ages.
Character Building
We believe education is not merely accumulating knowledge, but growing in wisdom (how to apply knowledge) and virtue (how to apply knowledge with moral excellence), through faith and repentance.
Culture of Excellence
We are committed to both academic and spiritual excellence through a comprehensive curriculum while encouraging imagination and promoting the development of body, mind and soul.

Making Disciples of Our Children
A Ministry of the Church
Jesus commands us in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) to go and make disciples of all nations. This includes discipling our very own children. Indeed, our children are our greatest mission field. Parents are to be the primary disciplers of their children and as a church we desire to come alongside of parents as they seek to do so. A child's education is an integral part of their discipleship.
In his book, Family Driven Faith, Pastor Voddie T. Baucham writes, "We cannot continue to send our children to Caesar for their education and be surprised when they come home as Romans." This is certainly true! Our church desires to do everything we can to help our families educate their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4) by cultivating alternatives to public education including homsechool support and Christian schooling. As such, we launched King Alfred Academy, our classical Christian school, in 2020. The school's doctrine and convictions are guarded by the elders of the church.
A Timeless Model of Education
Classical Christian Education
We have chosen to follow the classical Christian model for education. All subjects are taught as part of an integrated whole with Christ and his word at the centre. Students learn to see how literature and history and science and theology are related and are shown how all knowledge ultimately points back to God, the Creator of all things. Classical Christian education utilizes the trivium (grammer, logic, and rhetoric) in all subjects so that the God-given strengths which children display throughout the different stages of their life can be capitalized upon. Our goal is not just to impart knowledge, but to teach students how to think and learn and to instill in them wisdom and virtue.
By God's grace, King Alfred Academy has grown to over 20 staff and over 120 students. We praise God for the many ways he has blessed our school!
