In November of 2000, a group of Christians met in a small warehouse in the middle of Cambridge. A church was started called The Warehouse Fellowship. They had a strong desire to worship the Lord and reach the community. The early days were exciting as the church grew. By June of 2001, the church moved from the warehouse to the school gym of Cambridge Christian School in the south end of Cambridge. Eventually, growth subsided, and the church began to feel isolated. Seeking to be a part of a larger movement, the elders of The Warehouse Fellowship approached the leadership of Harvest Bible Fellowship and they began the process of transitioning to become a Harvest Bible Chapel.
In August of 2008, the church voted to join the Harvest Bible Fellowship. In September of 2008, the church officially launched in the new location of the chapel of Heritage College and Seminary as Harvest Bible Chapel Cambridge. The early days of this phase in the life of the church were difficult. Leadership changed, the elder board was volatile and half the congregation left. During this hard time, the church continued to pray and slowly the Lord brought stability and grew his church. Churches from Harvest Bible Fellowship, especially Harvest London, were an immense blessing early on as they helped provide workers and supplemented the worship team. In September 2011 the Lord opened the door for the church to start a bus ministry to the nearby universities and over the years this ministry has grown to bring hundreds of students to church on a weekly basis. By the end of 2011, the church had outgrown the upper chapel at Heritage and in January of 2012, the worship location was moved to the gymnasium of Heritage. The Lord was bringing people from all over the region, so the church’s name was changed to Harvest Bible Chapel Waterloo Region. The Lord kept showing himself to be faithful. In an answer to prayer, leaders were raised up to begin weekly taking the gospel to the streets of downtown Kitchener and Waterloo, and on Canada Day of 2012, the Street Outreach Ministry was launched. The Lord continued to grow the church and in March of 2014, it had grown to a point where a second service was added. With more people coming from all over the region, the decision was made to move the church to Woodland Christian High School in the centrally located town of Breslau in February of 2016. Through this stage of the church, people have been saved, many have been baptized, God has been growing the church, and the Lord has been glorified through it all.
In late 2017, with the dissolvement of the Harvest Bible Fellowship, the elders felt the Lord’s leading to change the name of the church again. In January of 2018, the church changed its name to Trinity Bible Chapel which accurately reflects who we are. We are the same church with a new name. As the church moves into a new season there is excitement to see the Lord continuing to move through his people. We are praying for land to steward for his glory. We are praying for the commencement of a Classical Christian School to teach our children well and to disciple them in Christ. We are praying for the ability to plant churches up the Highway 6 corridor and start churches founded on the Word of God. We are excited for the future. We are excited because we have prayed in the past and the Lord has shown himself faithful to answer. So, we are praying with expectancy for the Lord to do great things in the future.
