Hello Church Family,
One of the remarkable things we witness about the church in every generation is her willingness to reach out to people in need when the rest of the world is afraid to. As we learned from the Psalmist this past Sunday, we can do this out of conviction and a desire to serve our Lord because as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we need not fear any evil because the Lord is with us.
In response to Pastor Jacob’s message from Psalm 23:4, some of you have reached out to multiple long-term care facilities hoping to find areas where we might serve these most vulnerable people in a practical, boots on the ground fashion. Listed below are some responses from these care facilities. If you find yourself able and led to serve in any of these capacities, we encourage you to do so and also to reach out to other facilities in your area. Feel free to contact us if you come across more areas where we may shine a light in this dark time.
Trinity Village Care Center (Kitchener, ON)
Trinity Village has had 1 positive case in a worker and 1 positive case in a resident. They are seeking to compile a list of potential emergency workers who would be willing to step into the gap should there be a massive loss of hours among their own workers.
From their HR department:
“This person(s) would be on a list of emergency paid workers who would be contacted to fill in where ever they are skilled and able to, from the kitchen to personal support workers to laundry, cleaning and emergency maintenance at a time of dire need.”
You can sign up by clicking the link below. Their hope is that this is ultimately unnecessary but want to be prepared for the worst.
