My Heroes Wore Scrubs: To the Fired Healthcare Workers

By Jacob Reaume | October 16, 2021 | Comments Closed |

Officialdom has pontificated since the lockdowns began that their measures are to prevent the medical system from collapsing.  Bureaucrats and politicians destroyed businesses.  They polarized society, dividing families, while forbidding gatherings at Easter and Christmas.  Through media Pravda the empty suits in high places have sanctimoniously condemned the ones who resisted their tyranny as wantingRead more

Coerced Inoculations and (Religious) Exemptions

Tagged: covid-19, freedom, vaccine

Jesus predicted that there would be “wars and rumors of wars” (Matthew 24:6) preceding or leading up to a severe outpouring of judgement, and even so there are now “vaccine passports and rumors of vaccine passports.”    I am not opposed to medical treatments of this nature, as in vaccines, but I am opposed toRead more

John Owen, Heb. 10:25 & The Mortification of Worship

Tagged: church, covid-19, John Owen

“…not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:25). March 2020 brought lockdowns.  That meant the mortification of public gathered Christian worship to bring about the mortification of a virus.  Up until that point, I don’tRead more

The Price of Worship and Our Latest Sentencing: Jesus is Worth It

By Jacob Reaume | July 27, 2021 | Comments Closed |
Tagged: covid-19, persecution

We have had some really extravagant worship services over the past few months.  A service we held on January 24, 2021, cost us $83,000.  It was pricey, and we believe that Jesus is worthy of extravagance.  After all, He purchased us for the extravagant price of His very own blood. On April 25, 2021, weRead more

PERSECUTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS: SHOULD WE FLEE?

By Jacob Reaume | July 20, 2021 | Comments Closed |
Tagged: covid, fleeing, persecution, suffering, trials

I recently gave a talk called, “Persecuted for righteousness: should we flee?”, which can be accessed here.  I cleaned up my notes to make it into the essay below. INTRODUCTION We have passed through a season of persecution, and that is saliently undeniable, unless of course one writes for Gospel Coalition Canada where men workRead more

The Rural Post, Vaccines, and WWJD?

By Jacob Reaume | July 13, 2021 | Comments Closed |
Tagged: covid-19, vaccine

The Waterloo Region Rural Post just offered a theological argument to get the COVID vaccine. In an editorial of July 8, 2021, Peter Dunn ruminates, “In making your decision to get vaccinated or not, you might ask yourself, ‘What would Jesus do?’” To answer his pressing Christological quandary, he turns to Matthew 22:18-19 and forthwithRead more

Tim Stephens, John Bunyan, and Suffering for Righteousness

By Jacob Reaume | July 3, 2021 | Comments Closed |
Tagged: covid-19, Tim Stephens

After seventeen nights in a Calgary prison, Pastor Tim Stephens was released on Thursday to be reunited with his family and church. Many saw the video of Calgary police officers ghoulishly arresting him in front his wife and eight children. He spent his anniversary and fathers’ day behind bars. His crime? He gathered his churchRead more

We Lost The Building and Kept The Church

By Jacob Reaume | April 30, 2021 | Comments Closed |
Tagged: covid

Our March 29, 2015, I called our church to start praying for rehoboth.  I was preaching Genesis 26:1-33 where God gave Isaac rehoboth.  Isaac had been a wandering nomad for many years, and finally God gave him land.  Rehoboth is the Hebrew word for “broad place” or “room.”  Up until that sermon, we as aRead more
